Crufts
We host various agility competition finals at Crufts with certain ways in which to qualify. Each individual competition follows different rules which are summarised below. Please ensure that you read each individual section to find out further information regarding restrictions and rules/regulations. These rules are for the Young Kennel Club competitions and must be read in conjunction with the specific agility regulations (H).
This section will only detail the competitions with qualifying classes.
Rules for Young Kennel Club Agility at Crufts 2024
Young Kennel Club Qualifiers
Jumping Cup
The YKC Jumping Cup removes the contact equipment (A-Frame, See-Saw & Dog Walk) focuses solely on the jumping obstacles and weaves to determine who is the winner. This class is a Crufts Qualifiers where the semi-final takes place in the YKC ring and the Grand Final in the Main Arena.

Agility Pairs
The YKC Pairs competition aims to get YKC members working as a team, two YKC members (with dogs that compete in the same height category) team up and complete the course as fast as possible, one member does an agility course, the other does a jumping course, and in the middle there is a baton change over!

Agility Dog of The Year
The YKC Agility Dog of The Year competition is the YKC’s flagship agility event, and seeks to find the best of the best young agility talent in the UK. YKC members need to complete two rounds per competition, with their overall score coming from the two rounds combined. Winning this event not only qualifies you to Crufts, but also into the YKC Team GB Try-out squad for the Junior Open World Championships.

Graduate Agility
The YKC Graduate Agility competition is for dogs competing in Grades 1-3. This aims to give those dogs who don’t have the same experience as those competing at the highest levels a place to hone their skills.

ABC Agility
The YKC ABC (Anything But Collies) competition is for Non-Border Collie or Border Collie Crossbreeds to compete against one another.
Instead of specific competitions for YKC ABC, you instead gain points by competing in YKC Jumping Cup & Agility Dog of the Year competitions. Your placings in these will give you points to use when applying to qualify for the ABC competition. Full rules on how to qualify can be viewed in the rules document linked above.
